Altar Servers

Mission:

The Altar Server Ministry provides boys and girls, youth, and adults with the opportunity to assist the priest and deacon during Mass. Their role is to enhance the liturgical celebration through their prayerful and disciplined presence. This ministry helps deepen one’s understanding of the liturgy while fostering a spirit of reverence and service.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the priest and deacon with liturgical tasks (carrying the cross, holding the book, preparing the altar, etc.).
  • Leading by example through prayerful participation in the Mass.
  • Demonstrating reverence and attentiveness in all liturgical duties.
  • Arriving early for preparation and staying after Mass for proper clean-up.

Requirements:

  • Must have received First Holy Communion and be committed to attending training sessions.
  • Should display maturity, reverence, and attentiveness during the liturgy.
  • Open to boys and girls, youth, and adults who feel called to this ministry.

Training & Formation:

All altar servers receive liturgical formation, including understanding the Mass, proper handling of sacred vessels, and maintaining prayerful reverence in the sanctuary.
