As part of its “Faith and Reason” lecture series, the Newman Centre at the University of Toronto is hosting what is sure to be a fascinating talk on Thursday, March 12, starting at 7 p.m.

Andrew Willard Jones, visiting professor of theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville and author of Before Church and State, will discuss the relationship between religious and political leaders during the Middle Ages.

Prof. Jones will argue that the division of powers between church and state during this time period was much more complicated than most people today would expect. He will also discuss St. Thomas Aquinas’ political theology.
